VueScan has been helping people scan documents, photos, film and more for over two decades. We’re excited to announce a new way to buy VueScan. For 24 years, we’ve been selling VueScan as a one-time payment. Today we’re adding a new option. You can now purchase VueScan as a subscription in addition to the existing one-off payment options. The subscription gives you the latest version of VueScan for as long as you keep your subscription active, and you get free updates and technical support for as long as your subscription is active. We’ve noticed that our customers fall into two distinct categories: those who use VueScan consistently month after month and year after year, and those who use it for a short period of time for a project (like scanning their family’s film collection). For the second group, VueScan has been an expensive option. We want to make sure that everyone who can benefit from using VueScan has the opportunity to do so. So we’re making the change now to offer a subscription-based pricing model that will make VueScan more accessible to a broader group of people. We hope that this change will allow even more people to take advantage of the powerful scanning features that VueScan offers.
One of the best things about the VueScan subscription is that you can cancel at any time, even on the day that you subscribe. That means that if you only need VueScan for a short time, you can simply cancel and you won’t be charged for the next month. And, you can always re-subscribe later if you need VueScan again later. If you cancel VueScan, you will still have access until the end of your billing period (a month after you sign up).
But we also know that it can be frustrating for a company to switch to subscription only plans. So we plan on continue to offer one-time only licenses that come with one year of free updates. After that, you can choose to stick with the version you have, purchase another license or be offered a discounted yearly subscription to keep up to date. This way, you can choose what works best for you.
