VueScan is an application for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux that is compatible with over 2500 scanners from 35 scanner manufacturers. If your scanner is no longer supported by your Operating System, or you want more advanced features, download VueScan today.
There's more technical information about VueScan's support for your scanner at the bottom of this page.
VueScan can output scanned documents, photos, and film in PDF, JPEG and TIFF formats. It can also recognize text using OCR and create multi-page pdfs using both flatbed scanners and scanners with automatic document feeders.
We built VueScan so that two completely different types of users can use it. Beginners only need to run VueScan and press the 'Scan' button, and can press the 'More' button to use basic options. Pro users can press the 'Advanced' button to unlock powerful features to have complete control over your scans.

VueScan works with the Canon 4400F on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
You need to install a Canon driver to use this scanner on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. If you don't have a Canon driver installed, VueScan will still do flatbed scans (but not transparency scans). On Windows x64, you need to use VueScan x64 to use this scanner's transparency adapter.
This scanner is supported on Mac OS X 10.6 (Lion) and later if you first install the Canon drivers for Mac OS X 10.6 or later (these will work on newer versions of Mac OS X). Also, run the x32 (not x64) version of VueScan with these drivers.
